Hi,
I bought a cheap Cosina 35. It was supposed to be in good working order but once I got it, it had crooked filter ring. The focus works but has some stiffness around the 1m mark. After cleaning battery compartment from leaked gunk it started at least metering.
Is there something that can be done to fix it?

I decide to open it up to see how it works. Front retainer seems to be stuck so can't get to the front too easily.
There was interesting screw on top. Seemed to give access on adjusting the rangefinder. When opening the camera some spring popped out of place that controls the rangefinder mirror. Anyone have a picture of how it normally works?

Interestingly enough, I received one a few weeks ago, same basic description, same basic condition, except my filter ring is pushed in at the bottom...opposite of yours. I just set it aside, haven't cleaned the battery compartment yet, but I'll be watching this thread. For mine at least, it appears that the lens itself is not crooked.

I managed to open it up but could not fully dismantle. Did notice what was sticky when focusing. Due to the crooked part the ISO switch is touching the part. If I would take the part out I could have a functioning ISO 400 camera..
