Hi All,

Shiney new member here. So very happy to see this site up and running. Just the thought of sharing my RF interests with other folks just as bent on RF's as I am sort of warms the cockles as it were.

Anyway, it seems to me that every month or two I hear about another "retro" type camera being announced. The Bessa's are out and about of course, the new Zeiss Ikon is eagerly awaited, in fact I just heard a loud cheer among large format folks (I'm among them) when it was announced that Deardorff will resume production!

So what does the RF crystal ball say?

Any other sweet surprises waiting for us around the corner?

Any whispers of new/old/retro/cutting edge RF's from any of the majors....or even minors?

Cheers!

I think we are set too. Nikon has announced the SP for collectors. Canon won't play, too small a profit margin in their bid to take over the world. Konica Minolta, I don't know. I don't think a follow-up to the Hexar is in the works. If they did it could it be digital? Panasonic may introduce a reduced price sibling to the Leica DM when it arrives, but perhaps Leica will keep that camera to themselves so that they can charge $8,000 for it and feel good about themselves. CV? What will be the response if the R3a and R2a flop? Are the cameras loss leaders for their gravy train lenses? What if they can't deliver the ZI? It is already delayed into 2006.

Man do I sound negative or what? I need some rest, should have taken a nap today.

Welcome to RFF, Craig! Sounds like Rover's heard more juicy news than I; Is it true the Z-I has been delayed well beyond the expected May introduction date? Sad news...
