CS5 and LR4 plug-ins

I am running Windows 8 64 bit pro. I have installed CS5 with Topaz Labs filters and LR4 with Nik Software plug-ins. When I use either set of plug-ins the pop up image has a brown hue/cast to it (in CS5 and LR4). Once I have applied the particular filter and go back to CS5 or LR4 the brown colour is gone.

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Well, problem fixed. I made a real rookie mistake - did not colour profile the monitor. Did this and the problem went away. I've only being using digital for 9 years!

I had a catastrophic disk failure on my old PC - fortunately everything was backed up. So I've specced a great new machine, spent 3 days loading all the old software and just could not work out why CS5 and LR4 were playing up

Lesson - colour profiling is VERY important!
