My love story with MP starts in Cuba. An improbable couple: Leica MP Ralph Gibson Edition and Zeiss Biogon 35mm.
Loaded with Fuji Astia most of the time. I like to shot colour under the tropics sun. But I try to control the colours that gets in the image. I try not to be descriptive but rather emotive with my shots.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Very nice photos, but......I like your photos from India Turkey and Morrocco better.
I was also wondering - since your web site seems to have .ro (plus your name seems romanian - I appologize for the assumptions.
) - are you from Romania? If so, I'm suprised to see no photos from Romania.

@krosva, yes I am from Romania. The gallery contains only whole projects. There are some photographs from Romania scattered in my blog here:
http://stefandinu.blogspot.com
I will start some domestic projects as well. They will appear on my website.
@iridium7777, I don't use PS and one of the reasons that got me into film is that I was never good in editing, but quite good on making the right decisions before pressing the shutter. Therefore I shoot only one film per day, usually. When working in a project. What you all see on my website, except India, is a digitalized version of my slides. So, the color that you see back home could differ of the color on my slide. I scan them and tweak them in Lightroom to look like they do on slides.
I always prefer to show them projected or in Diascope, so if you are visiting Romania stop by for a beer and a projection.
Thank you all for stopping by, and for your nice comments.

The Cuba images look really great!
Did you do a lot of PS or is the lens that gives these images this "old" look??????

Excellent work, great website. I noticed the images appear to be kind of less sharp but when you click on them the full size image opens...and they are quite sharp.

stefan,
i had to look up the film and noticed that it was slide film, so that makes sense. what scanner do you use? i tried scanning some velvia 50 shots of mine with an epson flatbed scanner and they came out very soft.
back in around '90 me and my mom went through romania on our way to bulgaria from ukraine. i remember there were a lot of fields, potatoes on one side and corn on the other, then after about 3 hours they'd switch
would love to go back for a visit once again, and a beer in romania would be nice

Thank you for posting. I love the photos on your website.
I would like to get the same color saturation as yours but I never thought Astia can look that vibrant. Any advice on exposure to get that look?

Thank you for sharing - I think that you have some strong images here.
I must say, however, that find the yellow/orange background colour on your website to be quite distracting and I feel that it doesn't do justice to your photos. Some of the quite interesting colours get lost or don't go well with the background; a simpler black, white or grey background would really draw more attention to your photos, in my opinion.

@ishpop, that pic is taken in the house where Fidel was born and where he says he is going to die. It was some sort of museum.
@iridium7777, I use Nikon 5000ED for scanning. It is a lot better than my flat bed Canon 8000 series use to be.
As for beer, is easy. I own a bar in the middle of the capital city of Bucharest, called Pe Baricade. The city is not very tourist friendly, but with the right tips it could be a great experience. I stay where the bar is and I can show you my studio/darkroom, and project some slides. Or check out some B/W prints.
@sockeyed, I know about the website. It is annoying for me either. But unfortunately it was a gift from a good friend who has a web-design company. And I don't wanna hurt his feelings. After a while I will choose a regular layout with a neutral background.

Stefan, nice series from Cuba. I remember that green/turquise color that they love and the rather dim interiors. Havana is very much a M camera place. A bit more discreet than a big DSLR (as well as less reliance on the Havana power supply).
I have been there a couple of times, but I stuck to Tri X and M2's though.
It was like going back again looking at your shots.
