I used to shoot wide quite a bit, but the 50/2 ZM is spectacular. So much so that I don't really use my elmar, which I am now seriously considering selling to help finance my next ZM lens. I know a lot of you guys don't shoot transparency, but Lord! The color and tonal qualities from the Zeiss is outrageous..

Come on Joe.. you know it'll be ZM on Leica
the Ikon, while inexpensive compared to a new M7 or such.. looks a bit too blocky.. but tell you what.. can you shoot some digital shots of the Ikon against your M3 to give me an idea of size?

my sister says she likes the rounded look of leicas, but we both agree that they never get the details right. the zeiss ikon, voigtlander bessas, and hexars get the whole package right.
forgot the m5, cl, and cle.

Good friends will tell you. Oh, and maybe you'll get a call from your bank manager. The only fix is to get a little charcoal, and rub it all over your camera

Gman your first post in this thread asked about the "dreaded disease" flip the page and ... what happened here? Thirty eight posts and already a "bran' spankin' new-veau" Zeiss! I am concerned but also very impressed.
Julian what have you started....

And, totally OT to this thread, thank you again for posting the Tim Horton's shot. I am nostalgic.

Earlier in this thread I said I will be struck down if I acquire anything after this ZI. So, what happens next: Stephen Gandy tells us that the Zeiss F-mount and M42 50mm lenses are arriving. *%?@!$^. Imagine the Zeiss 50mm or 85mm in M42-mount with an M42 to ??? adapter sitting on the end of some nice trustworthy, time-honoured mechanical SLR. A Rollei SL35? A Minolta SRT-101? A Pentax K2? An FTb? An OM1? There are M42 adapters for all those mounts, right? Or maybe without an adapter on a Praktica or a Zeiss Icarex TM or a Spotmatic or a Bessaflex or, heaven forbid, a Zenit or something. I'm just imagining; I'd never DO it.
