I just received a IIIf with an Elmar 50/3.5 from around 1955.
Both have seen little use but are quite dry and in need of an overhaul.

With UK out, who are the remaining reliable Leica techs in continental EU?

If you have personal experiences, it would be cool with a few words of what you had done, your experience and perhaps the price level.

This post never got any replies, but I ended up using Will van Manen in the Netherlands.
The camera and lens came back in what appeared to be good working order, but with little use the camera turned out to have issues that needed a trip to the workshop again.
The second trip was under warranty (but did cost me the shipping from Denmark to Holland).
Sometimes sh*t happens and those situations are where you get to know if the place is really good or bad.
Will van Manen re-did the work without complaints.
My only comment would be that I would have expected that when they work on things they didn't do right in the first place, it would enter in the front of the line, but I had to wait another 5 weeks again as if it was a new job, which makes my rating of their services less than optimal. However, I would definitely not advise against using them.

Will van Maanen is slow at work - only he and his assistant Cathy are working - but he is usually good (however expensive). I am surprised that the repair wasn't good and that you were not given priority the second time. Hopefully everything is OK now.

Erik.
