thinking about selling my r-d1. has less than 1500 shutter actuations. very mint, latest firmware installed. no alignment issue (as far i can tell).

what's the used value of this these days? i bought this for 2000 on ebay a year ago. i checked ebay and seems like it ranges from 1000 - 2200.

just wondering what the pros think of its value right now. :)

There was a nice one that went for $1450 on RFF a while back. I've seen them for $1500 but more often for $1700-1800. The Matsuiyastore had new ones for $1800, but now they are up to $2000. So, I wouldn't ask 2 grand if you can get them new for that, unless you have a lot of extras to sell. I guess it depends on how quick you want your sale to be...

I hope that this is helpful. I'm considering buying one of these so I have been looking around a lot. I would be happy to get one for $1500 with extra batteries and maybe $1600 with a luigi case. One can dream...I'm not really flush right now (read I shouldn't), so I don't mind waiting for a good deal.

Map Camera still appear to have stock of the R-D1s. Not sure what the logistics of ordering from Japan are but the price seems reasonable at $1683.

UPDATE: I just had my Japanese wife translate the page and in fact the camera is second hand. Not such a great deal perhaps...

I agree with these comments. I have been closely following the prices on the R-D1s/R-D1 for a few weeks now. I'd be interested in purchasing a used one for sub-$1,500 (as long as it was in great shape, etc.). Otherwise, I think I'll end up buying a new one from matsuiyastore.

Probably 1400-1700 or so. Buying new doesn't mean a perfectly aligned rangefinder, as I have found out the hard way. The good news is that DAG can adjust these for a very reasonable price if the VF's do go out.
