I have just replaced curtains on a Zorki 1b. I've done this more often, but after studying the curtains some things came to mind.
The space between the curtains on the time of a 1/500 seems to be larger in a Fed1 than a Zorki 1, even when they have the same range of speeds.
Second was the lenght of the curtains and their influence on the spacing of the split.The curtains and the tapes must have a certain length, to give an equal spacing. (like a tape recorder winding faster with more tape on the spool)

Has measurements for the lenght of the curtains.
I took up some old curtains from fed's and zorki's. and the lenghts vary from: opening curtain (7-7,5cm) to closing curtain (9,3-9,5) cm
Perhaps a new challenge when replacing curtains?
