CV 1.4/40 Nokton on M3, anybody ?

I just would like to know if I could use the whole area of M3's viewfinder for 40mm lens ?

I think you can. Ive used the combo, but I was drunk at the time and cant really remember if I saw frame lines. Took a good picture tho :) Was impressed. Specialy after that 3rd pint!
 
Some here have used the 40/2 summicron in the same manner so yes, you can.
 
Yes, I do it all the time w/the 40/1.4 Nokton, 40/2.8 Sonnar, & 40/2 M-Rokkor on my M3. However, I wear glasses, so if you don't, the entire M3 VF may be a wee bit bigger than the 40mm perspective (@ least @ the minimum focusing distance).
