The brightlines on my CV 25 VF have suddenly become "cocked" approximately 30 degrees \. Does a reasonable remedy exist or is time to replace it?

Thanks,

never happened with mine but i remember reading that the glass element with the brightlines is of circular shape, thus it may rotate when not sitting 100% tight. should be fixable - someone on here will know how it's done, hopefully.

It seems to be a problem with C/V viewfinders. I'm quite unskilled with stuff like this, but I took mine apart and turned the element with the brightlines so that they were straight. I made the mistake of gluing the part in what I thought was the right position. I was wrong, so they're now slightly, and permanently, tilted.

If you're handy with small parts, you should be able to do a better DIY job than mine. If you turn the VF upside down, you see two tiny Philips screws. Undo those and carefully, carefully pull the two halves apart. The various elements stick to both the top and bottom slots that keep them in place, then fall out so that I had no idea which slots they went back into, and I had to get help on that one (I had to work on two...).

Not long after my inept fix, I received unexpected cash and bought a Zeiss 25 VF. Very expensive, but the view is fantastic and the frames don't slip.
