Leica LTM CV 25mm f4 Snapshot Skopar

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I thought it was a great little lens when I had it and used it along with the CV 40/1.4. I ended up going a little wider and switching to the 21/4 and the ZM 35/2.

Great, sharp lens. I think it is a good example of the innovation C/V brings to the RF field and shows off Cosina's design philosophy at its best. Mr. Kobayshi was able to produce it at a fraction of the cost of his competition (say 1/10th) and with quality that rivaled the more expensive lenses in many circumstances. Not "all" circumstances, but in enough so that those of us who had written off a wide-angle lens of this type as too expensive could take pictures that we could not before. Given its speed limitations, it's a gem.

I think its one of THE BEST lens to use for heavily peopled street photography. You can get into a crowd, zone focus, and get GREAT results. I used it on a Bessa L, but it would be even better on a quieter Barnack. One of the best if Cosina's line-up in my opinion.

I can only second that. Wonderful lens, pure fun to use.

what's the min focus for this?

what's the min focus for this?

the lack of coupling is a bonus for NEX users, but I don't see how 25 coupled vs uncoupled or CV 25 vs a ZM 25, or even 28s really gives you any advantages with scale focusing, as long as your scales are accurate. Perhaps I am missing something here?

The f4 for me, makes it a summer outdoor lens, while a 2.8 lens can be used year round.

Ditto most of these comments for me. I particularly love the click stop focusing; this makes this lens so fast and fun to use it's silly. Combined with the size and the focal, this lens is a real winner.

i can not say enough good things about this lens..... the click stop focus is such a great idea... i made the mistake of trading mine for a lens i thought i needed more and ended up having to buy another one.... mine lives on a Leica Standard

I love this lens so much, I buyed a second for reserve and a Zeiss Ikon SW body for better usability (AE) than with the Bessa L.

" .... mine lives on a Leica Standard"

Interesting, does the 25mm CV viewfinder clear the Standard's viewfinder?

The CV 21mm finder doesn't, it jams against the side of the fixed finder, which is a shame.
