I'm thinking of buying a 28mm lens. Which of the above two would be the better purchase.
I know the 1.9 isn't available everywhere but I have seen a few places online where I can buy new. I also know that the 1.9 blocks a little of the viewfinder.
I know when I ask this that it will confuse me even more. However which should I buy
I'll be using Black and white film no digital shots as yet
Thanks for your time

The 1.9 also requires an adapter.

Seriously, not trying to evade your question:
Buy either. Make sure you can exchange or return it easily. Do some tests. If it's good, keep it.

I'm buying long distance so to speak. Although I suppose I could either return or sell on a lens I'm not happy with :

Well-known
Can someone who has used both lenses comment on the ergonomics?
I used the 1.9 for a short while, before I found that 28mm is not my cup of tea, and found it to be a lovely, solidly built, nice lens to use. A little large perhaps, but nothing annoying.
Optical performance was very good.
I known nothing about the f/2 version.

I'd also be interested to hear some user reports on the newer 28mm F2 Ultron, specifically handling, ergonomics, finder blockage, size, weight etc. I'm sure the optics are great, maybe a little soft wide open?
