As some may know we had a pretty severe ice/snow storm over last couple of days. Feeling adventurous I took my CV 35/1.2, new toy - RD1s, dressed well enough to deal with all that ice/snow coming down and at exactly midnight went out to do some shooting. Streets were pretty much deserted, and while sliding around and trying to keep my gear from getting wet, while trying not to land on my ass I managed to take a few pics. Nothing special, really, as focusing was very hard and conditions didn't allow to take time. All I can say - that CV 35/1.2 is AMAZING!. But than again - we know that already. Most pics at F1.2:

as a comparison, we are having the hottest heat wave here in southeast oz for the last hundred years or so, so they say. daily 43degreesC which is roughly 109F. not really doing much out in the heat with any camera. watching the tennis. serena williams and four russians left. personally, having come from northern europe in my youth, i do miss the cold and snow. our only snow here is the skiing kind up in the High Country. anyway, these days nothing a vodka tonic won't fix. and the magic of semi-retirement (?) is, you don't always have to wait until 5.
i also have the 35/1.2 and it is a fantastic lens. it sits happily on my bessa-T or M3 pretty much all the time and i like its weight and firm grip. feels like a real lens from the old SLR days. but i have to admit i do like the little ones, the 15 and 21 for their almost P&S ability when barrel focussing. never mind, enjoying the pics of cold things and counting the hours til 5...or half four...

cheers,

-dd

the last one is beautiful: the empty road going I do not know where, the lights getting smaller and smaller and the car transmit a sense of ...I m not able to explain what, maybe melanchonie or simply quiet...
a nice shot, at the end!

The last one works best for me, as well. Lonely, cold, empty streets. Where's the nearest bar? I need a scotch and a smoke.

Very pretty. Why the rings around the lights, Krosya ?

Roland.

You know, I'm not sure - my best guess is - due to that ice/sleet that was coming down as I was shooting - may thats what created that optical effect against the light?

I love the 6th Shot. How long did you expose it? Maybe you still remember.
We had some heavy snow falls in Austria too, great things to see out there, but I m stuck here learning mineralogy. Can you belive it?

I dont really remember, plus it was on AE. But if I had to guess - it was about 1/15 or so.
