The Summarit 35 is my favorite lens, though 50mm is my favorite focal length. I own 5 50mm lenses, but the Summarit is my only 35mm as it really is that good. Whether used on the M9 for color, the M Monochrom or even with film on my M5, the lens is always a delight.
I didn't know what yellow might help with too high contrast from this lens. I recall to see some difference with 43mm yellow filter on LTM version of this pancake.
I fixed my Skopar loose rear element and falling apart focus tab, re-lubed it to make fucus ring more stiff as well. Have to do it after one year of using it hard way. Took it everywhere and one day my M4-2 landed on sidewalk with this lens on it. Cheap UV took part of it, didn't break, but but become not perfectly round. The lens is OK.
Trying to like this lens again, since here is no real alternative in this price range for modern lens and/or Leitz lens.
I have new B+W 2x 39mm yellow filter now to try to lower the contrast in b/w and generic screw-in hood to get rid of the flares.
One thing I forgot is to make aperture ring stiff enough as well 🙂
