I got this lens a week ago from Jordan (Thanks!), and I placed on order online for an IR cut filter for it, but I still have not received it. I was warned by Brian that even with the M9, an IR cut filter is needed with this lens. I took some photos of a pretty sunset a few days ago.
here are the images form that session: https://raid.smugmug.com/CV-50mm-11/

At one stage, a surfer showed up, so i took some photos when it was difficult to focus on him in the sunset. Some came out nice. I have not deleted any of the images.

I like the lens already. It seems to be a fun lens to use.

Thank you Ari. No, this is the only lens that gives me a magenta cast with the M9. I never use IR cut filters. Not even with the M8.

beautiful pictures Raid. I have just bought the Nokton for the second time and I'm enjoying it very much with my fujis and Leicas

Thanks, Roland. I have big enough hands, so I find the lens to be just the right size. It is so nice to have the flexibility to use open aperture at 1.1, if needed. Focusing on the horizon does not require much DOF.

hi, raid. I picked up a nokton 50 1.5 from ebay. It shows terrible focus shift on my M9 which I know to be working perfectly. I wonder if it is just my copy or it is a known issue? Thank you

Focus shift is a function of the lens design, so all units of the same model should be the same in that regard. But a lens can focus badly for other reasons. Does it focus well at any reasonably wide aperture? There are lots of posts here about testing.

The 50/1.1 does focus shift a bit at portrait distances, but mine focuses perfectly at full aperture which is good enough for me. As I stop down the additional depth of field is mostly behind the point of focus and I can live with that.
