No Get Well cards please
went out with the dog early this morning and put the 90 on the RD. not usre if these are acceptible or not. they don't seem to have the clarity of shrter FL CV lenses. have only adjusted the Brightness and Contrast in PSCS3, nothing else. are others getting similar results? i used the RF focusing rather than DOF which i prefer on other lenses.

When it comes to CV lenses, I can only compare the 90 to the 25 and 35 Skopars. And yes, the bite that the Skopars have isn't there with the Lanthar. At least not wide open. When closed down to f8, the gap narrows. I suppose it's designed that way, given that 90 is a classic portrait FL.
Another difference that I've found, and that's more problematic if you're shooting film like I do, is that the Lanthar has a somewhat magenta cast. But that's of course not too difficult to fix in a digital workflow.

dank u, peter. i think i shot at max optimisation, that is, f8 was the aperture setting so i think i have done my limit with this lens. i was just having some fun with it as i usually shoot film as you say you do and the 90 is fine for that. just curious about its performance let-down. but i like the RD as a grab-and-go camera. and i am aware of the slight warm cast this lens has and the contrastyness on digital, which is a magenta thing, anyway. it does quite well on BW film at portrait distances so i think i will consider another option for any long reach and crispness i need for the RD, which is really unlikely. i was just having a play, er, test run...
i wonder if anyone else has any experiences with longer lenses on the RD...?
cheers,
