You may be interested to know about my attempt to have a Bessa R3A repaired under Japanese warranty in the UK.
I bought the R3A in Tokyo with a Japanese warranty. Upon returning to the UK I discovered that the camera was front focusing by a few inches. I contacted Robert White who very kindly offered to send the camera back to Japan for repair, even though I did not have a UK warranty. I now have the camera back, after about 3 months and Robert White only charged me for handling and postage. The Japanese warranty seems to have been honoured. Although the camera has the same serial number as the one I purchased, I suspect that the hotshoe may have simply been transferred to a brand new body, but I am not certain about this. In any case I got a brand new box, strap, batteries and instruction book in English.
Let's hope the rangefinder is OK this time!
