CV brightline finders - need help

Hi folks,
I have and use various CV finders. I've been looking on the 'net and here and in my manuals for an answer to my question and I can't find it:

What are the short lines under the top brightline border? How do I use them? E.g. on the 21mm finder, there are five dashes under the top border. Do they correspond to aperture settings for help with parallax shift? Just there to be pretty?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi David,

they depict frame shift due to parallax. The normal framelines are for infinity.
The dashed ones show you how the top of the frame shifts down for close
distance, I seem to remember for 3m. This only properly works for the
right camera since it depends on the finder/lens distance. I think they
are all made for the Bessas except the 40mm finder which is made for
Leicas.

This pattern is also used in the Leica Brightline finders. I find that all of the lines in my Leica 50mm finder appear a little sharper than the CV 35 that I have, but the CV finders are much more affordable.

Ok, that makes sense. I've just looked at the sole Leitz brightline finder I have (50mm) and it has them too. I don't know its vintage but it's probably for M2/M4.
