Mr. K's inventive mind and comparatively low overhead allows Cosina Voigtlander to take chances on innovative products that the larger camera companies like Canon and Nikon would never dream of.

His 35mm rangefinder lineup is the largest since the classic rangefinder days of the early 1960's.

Yet not all products sell well enough to keep them in continued production. Other products are upgraded with new versions. Yesterday Cosina announced the end of production for:

28/3.5 Screw Mount Leica lenses
-- this is a particularly fine lens, probably the sharpest screw mount 28 ever made! get one while you will can!

35/1.7 Screw Mount Leica lenses

contrary to on report on this site, the Leica screw mount 12/5.6 and 15/4.5 STAY IN production

F-L SL series lens adapter (F-S adapter discontinued over a year ago)
the SL series Nikon F/F2 finder adapter
the Column Type hand grip
the Ball Type hand grip
the VC Meter neck strap (VC meters stay in production)
the Bessaflex hot shoe adapter

previously it was announced this year that the Bessaflex was discontinued, along with the SL lens lineup. The Leica screw mount 25/4 is discontinued, replaced by a new rangefinder coupled 25/4P in Leica M mount. There is also a new 21/4P in Leica M mount.

however on special order, there will be one more production run of Pentax KA lenses for the 90, 125, and 180 lenses.

This is not some sort of Voigtlander pull back. Mr. K is just adjusting to the marketplace and slow sellers.

There are lots of exciting new products being worked on in the Cosina factory, but I can't talk about them !

I will accept the tease and wait for the good news.

This is the first I've heard confirming an M mount RF-coupled 25/4, though it's been rumored. Same optical design as the Snapshot-Skopar?

Blimey, surprised that they're discontinuing the 35mm Ultron. I guess that means the Nokton isn't expensive enough :)
Or maybe people go tighter and get the 40...

Got to second what Stephen said about the screw mount 28mm 3.5. I got mine in December for my R. Very sharp, contrasty, small, and heavy. A real gem!

I just received my CV Ball Grip and Vertical grip. Smaller than I had imagined, and a good match to the Winder and Bessa bodies.

I -really- enjoy using the vertical grip on my Bessa-T w/Winder. And my wife likes using the ball grip on her little Bessa L. Seems to be a steadier handhold for low-light shooting, but takes a little getting used to.

Both highly recommended while they are still available:)

Like a full-frame digital Bessa with body/sensor OIS ? :D

I know...

I just picked up the winder and the vertical grip and it feels real good on the 4M I cannot wait to play with it. I like the focus/ wind left hand shoot with right:)
