CV Metal Brightline Finder vs. Leica Plastic Finder

I've read some discussion of these finders online, but I am wondering whether anyone has compared them directly. I am not usually a fan of external finders. However, I need a 28mm finder for an upcoming trip when I will carry only one body (my 0.85x MP) but want to use a 28mm lens. The new CV metal brightline finder is in the same price ballpark as a used Leica plastic finder. So I am choosing between these two. Any comments will be very welcome. Thanks.

I am not familiar with the Leica plastic finder to which you make reference. However, I use both an original Leica metal 50mm Briteline finder and a metal 35mm finder from CV. While the Leica finder is undeniably the best, the CV metal finder is very good. I am dubious of plastic finders, because the mounting base can fracture if the finder gets a blow while the camera is carried on a strap.

I've used the CV 25mm, 75mm, and 28/35 minifinder, as well as the Leica 24mm and the Zeiss 25/28mm finders. I'd say the Zeiss is the best of that lot, tho it's pricey. But each of those CV finders is actually quite good, and a relative bargain.

If you can still find one, I'd vote for the 28/35 minifinder. It's very good optically, plus it's tiny and fits close to the shoe --- hence, less likely to get caught on things.

Either one is fine Rafael. They are both good. Choose one for the price point that fits your need.

only used the CV 21 finder but it is really great

I have a silver CV 28/35 mini finder which I have no use for since switching over to the dark side (rebel xsi). It's little rubber eyepiece has since fallen off but other than that it works fine. Actually I can see even more in the vf since the rubber no longer obstructs the very outside of the frame.

I have the CV 28mm metal finder. The image through the finder is amazingly bright--brighter than the human eye. I have ZERO qualms in recommending it to anyone.
