CV Plastic finders with glasses?

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about the CV Skopar 21 for my Leica. Are there any glasses wearers here who use the plastic finder that it comes with? Can you see the whole frame?

Hey Ben,
I qualify on both counts -- I've found I can see the entire frame (just barely) on the CV finder. I can see the frame lines better than the M camera's 35mm lines for instance. It is really quite bright, does have a little barrel distortion. I did break my original finder -- definitely was my fault however... it took the brunt of a fall onto an outstretched hand.

Thanks for that Jim... would you say the 35mm framelines in your Leica would be comparable to the 50 lines in an M3? I'm not even close to seeing all of the 50mm lines....

That I'm not sure Ben, I've not tried the M3 -- I imagine your comparison is about right though. I have a .72 M6.

It may not add much to this discussion, but I have the metal CV 35 finder that I use with my Jupiter 12. I added a felt ring to protect my eyeglass lenses. When I place my glasses against the finder, I can barely see the entire framed field. My 50mm Leica Briteline finder does a better job, but, of course, is more expensive.

I don't wear glasses but it's caught my interest before, though I haven't tried one.

Edit: just looked at it again, and it may have the same problems with glasses as any other finder when getting close enough for 21.

The 21 finder works perfectly with glasses - much better than 35lines on m2 or 50 lines on m3.

Me too. THere isn't a lot of room outside the 21 framelines, but it works fine with glasses...
