hey all.
I came across this while looking for a d700. seems too good to be true. also, the foreign plug in one of the pictures worries me that this may be a scam.
I'd like a second opinion, what do you think?

ADDED: He replied to my email with a bunch of pictures of everything. hmm. says the camera only has 4000 clicks.

If he can, still insist on meeting in crowded place and have some chums behind so you do not robbed or raped.

The crowded place isn't enough to deter the rape and robbery?

The crowded place isn't enough to deter the rape and robbery?![]()
I'm one of those who like to have backups. Some tricksters are genious psychologists too, and can talk victims into stuff they would never ever think they could go for. Also, it isn't too hard to detect what type buyer is and put knife to his belly and take away all cash (other valuables, at the end) if he foolishly has taken it with - right in crowd. Just a short talk and few looks to know for sure what type buyer is can be enough.

Unless of course, this is the aim, in which case a certain paradox is invoked but enjoy !!

Well, the grip, used, seems to go for about 50-80€ on ebay. Used batteries have roughly the same value as used condoms - unloading them on you may even save some, if disposal in your country isn't free.
And cameras can be well-worn even with a low exposure count - if I was to pick between a camera with 4k shots in three years as a spare in a PJ's bag or one with 50k shots within 4 weeks in a studio, I'd go for the latter.

It looks legit to me. The price is low but not silly low and the seller is avoiding all the fees and costs of paypal, ebay and shipping.

US people have reported about rapists and bandits coming to CL appointments. Like any sane person, I realize there are much more reasonable sellers than scammers, perverts and robbers.

ditto. meet him in a public place (as bank, as suggested, is good). i think he'll show up. this is a good deal, but not a crazy good one like the scammers usually propose.

When you meet, fire that baby up, and snap a few pics (bring your own lens). See if the sensor is dirty. Maybe the thing just hasn't been used much because the owner bought it on a lark, and wasn't that much into photography. I think if it was stolen, there'd be a bag too. I'd be aware of that third party battery.
