I got my Summicron 50mm back from DAG today. It is as smooth as any lens I have ever used. He's the man.
He also cleaned the glass. It looks brand new. Thanks DAG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May I ask how much it cost? Was there any focus adjustment needed? I have a black Summicron that has a focus problem. It is sharp only at the 3 smallest apertures. I am wondering how much it is going to cost me. Also, how long did it take?
Thanks,
Egil

Hey, he gave me a quote on Summicron R 50mm. How long did it take from mailing to receiving it?

As with any repair tech, it depends on whether or not they have parts and what their queue looks like. I've had things come back from DAG in as little as 10 days, other times 8 months(and counting). The man does good work and charges a modest price. If you're in a hurry, send it somewhere else. If you can wait a bit you'll get a better repair/service.

$40.00 plus shipping cost. Worth every penny. About 2 1/2 weeks. No focus adjustment. The shutter blades froze up and I couldn't set the aperture.

I've sent him two Summarons (3.5 & 2.8) along with a 50/3.5 elmar. And I'm planning on sending him a 90/4 screwmount to clean out some haze. His work is just impeccable - the repairs to the f/3.5 Summaron and Elmar transformed the lenses.

I have sent Don several lenses so far. I will use his services again. He does not mind re-doing work if lens can be improved upon. Great guy indeed.
What's a DAG? Is he a repairer of cameras with questionable fashion sense?

Brett
