Frank Petronio sums up some of the niceties of book design so very well.

It takes a lot of time and effort to get it anywhere right. It is something that can't be rushed. I would suggest getting a Blurb book ready to 'print', then leaving it for several days before going back and doing a careful check. Get someone else to proof read your text - it is surprising how the eye 'reads' the wrong spelling time after time. It thinks it knows what is there even if it isn't.

Then before finally sending off your 'book' go back and read Frank's post again. Use it as a check list.
