Damn it, i think its broken

Any ideas, before i take my beloved Mamiya 7 II in for repair.

The camera can't seem to focus to infinity now. Its like the focusing has had a knock or something, would it more likely to be the camera or lens? I turn the focus on the lens to the infinity mark but in the viewfinder its seems to be focusing to about 3 meters away which is not good.

One more think, has anyone had any dealings with the Polaroid Back for the Mamiya 7, i wouldn't mind trying one out but I have a feeling they have stopped making them.

Hopefully someone will chime in with some real experience based help. Having never seen one in the wild, much less own one, the only thing that comes to my mind is to ensure it is coupled correctly and that the focus follower isn't bent for some reason.

NPC still makes backs for the 7II... they are expensive, and the film is increasingly hard to find.

I don't know how to calibrate the RF on any of the Mamiya RF's - unfortunately. Good luck with the repair.

there was a diy instructions on how to do this yourself floating about the www some time ago, now i can't seem to find it (and damn if i can find anything on my computer).

but i can easily recommend precision camera works, should you decide to send it in for an overhaul..

Hey thanks for the reply, yes the lens focuses to the infinity mark which leads me to think the RF is out of alignment.

Thanks for the shop but i'm afraid I'm across the pond in London. I'll send it to Aperture UK as they did a great job on my last camera.

I assume that you have only one lens so you would not be able to see if it's a body problem or a lens problem. Did this happen suddenly? I have the instructions for rangefinder adjustment which I could send or post here. I have done the adjustment on a Mamiya 7 but for me I'd only do it for a small error: this seems like a bit more than that. Is there any possibility that a bit of something has got between the lens and the thing in the body that relays lens movement to the rangefinder? Is the rangefinder patch just horizontally displaced or vertically as well?
