I have been shooting with My Nikon F-100 & F-5 lately. I went to a wedding today, and since I was not the hired photographer, I decided to pull out the old M-3.
I forgot how much fun it is to shoot all manual and guess at the exposure. Here is my favorite shot.

Ha!!! Yes, it is like an old armchair, you can settle right back into it and it is soo comfortable.

An M3 fits like a glove--a silken glove--and follows your fingers as if it reads your mind. The pictures are marvelous. Why ever give it up?

Thanks Dude....I never gave it up. I had an accident and dropped my 50mm lux, bending one of the cams. I sent it away to get it fixed and in the mean time, I just got used to using the F-100 and F-5. It felt good to get my lens back and put in some lens work again.

You're welcome--I like your opening shot--straight on; people enjoying the time.

Classic and beautiful. Makes me think that filtered B&W from digital color might not be the only way to go.

Nice pic! Is it me, or does the groom look a little apprehensive?

I was thinking the exact smae thing. I asked them to get Face-to-Face...that was the best they could do ;-)

Thanks Tuolumne---I shoot digital every now and again, but I only shoot film for black & white.

Hey Joe, I give more credit to the photographer than the camera. Kudos to you!

I have various cameras, RF, SLR, digital, MF; the Leica M is the one that feels like an extension of my own hand and eye. In my case, the M2, M6, and MP are my favorites. The M3 is for special uses, such as with a long lens. It took a while for me to bond with it, but I'm getting there.

Aye, I like the shot a lot!
My only suggestions is you might try to get a little more brightness out of the groom's face... the shadows are just a tad bit too dark.
Even so its a great capture!
I too staretd using an M3 recently and I love it. Sometimes I just wish I had a light meter for those lower lighting levels.

Yes Rob-F...I have a M-6TTL too, but I just love the M-3 viewfinder! I also like to be able to shoot without a battery--thus the reason I selected the M6TTL over the M7.

Thanks jbf! I was hoping the exposure was set right all the way home. I will take your advice and see if i can lift shadows a bit more. thanks again!

Beautiful shot! the groom looked nervous to me; but then again aren't all grooms supposed to be

Thanks Shadow fox. He may have been wondering who the hell is this guy and how did he get in here? Or perhaps, he may have been checking out my M-3, because I was told he's a professional photographer.
