have you heard of these cards?
i was at 'the source' (formerly radio shack in canada) and they had a sale on 16gb cards, class 10...reg. 70 bucks...on sale for 20 bucks...

but i have never heard of them...anyone with experience?

internet reviews say they suck and they are wonderful...no help there.

Joe, if you're patient you can find Sandisk Ultras or even Extremes for that price or just a bit more at Best Buy. Other than an Eye Fi SD card, a free Lexar 16gb CF, Sandisk is all I use in CF and SD.

If it's not against the rules, there are a few choices here...delete if it is.

The 16 gb may be sold out where you are but the 32 looks like it's still available for not much more.

yep, sd cards...i should check out the store tomorrow.
i stopped at future shop today and they were out of most sd cards...except for the mega ones...i prefer smaller cards.

Hi Joe,

I never heard of these either.
How much do you save and how much pissed off will you be, if the files stored on these cheapo cards are getting corrupted or unreadable at some point of time?
Answer this yourself and then go buying some brand name cards for ... sake.

As for the internet reviews in general :
Look at the negative comments/ratings, sort out the typical "user error" bad ratings and íf you still have a resonable number of failures, stay away from it.

I've been using Dane-Elec, amongst others, for some years here in the UK. I've a drawer full of SanDisk, Verbatim and Kingstons, too.

How can you tell any difference between any of them? Either they work, or they don't. Or is it not that simple?

Yes, I have one or two. I can't remember why: I think I was in Bohemia or somewhere and needed more cards, and that was all I could get. No trouble so far.

Cheers,

R.

Dane Elecs are from France so they may not be familiar to most NA photographers. Over here it's usually Sandisk or Lexar with a few others mixed in. The crowd I run with is Sandisk or Lexar. ymmv
