Can anyone recommend a good color darkroom course to take in New York? I know nothing about developing/printing but I've been taking photos for years. I shoot only color.

I'm about to sign up for ICP's course, but it is pricey ($800) and the course description says that it includes beginner camera basics, something I'd just as soon avoid.

If anyone can recommend alternatives I'd like to hear.

Thanks!

I'll just add something to my post above.

I just happened to stumble upon a community center in Hunts Point, South Bronx today. They had a logo for ICP, so I stopped in and found out that ICP gives darkroom classes there, same teachers at the main location on 6th ave, same number of hours, PLUS free darkroom time on Saturday afternoons. The difference is that it costs $200 for a 10 week course, versus $800 at the ICP in Manhattan. ICP has partnerships with several community centers throughout the city, and funding is provided by various charitable organizations (hence the reduced price).

They only offer B&W classes however.

Have you looked into any small community colleges in your area???
I know the one's out here usually offer courses...most are B&W too...
