Darkroom for hire in Toronto?

Another option is to apply for membership at Gallery 44 (block away from TIW). I believe they're still set up for fb printing.

membership and facilities would be the info you'd be looking to read up on. I've had friends as members and served on the board and the member's darkroom sounds ideal. I think full members have 24 hr access to the darkroom as well but you'd need to check that out.

Great area and close to plethora of stuff.

One thing to consider is there is a membership fee of several hundred dollars and IIRC there is a fee for the use of the facilities. I seriously considered Gallery 44, however decided that the cost of their facilities was only marginally lower than TIW, so I didn't join.

Things may have changed since 2007. I'd check on the cost structure to be sure. If cost isn't a consideration I think Gallery 44 is a wonderful place.

$50 for an 8x10 wet print on fibre. It ain't cheap but if you want an experience printer to make the highest quality print possible you're unlikely to find a cheaper price.

They also offer lambda fibre silver gelatin prints (wet finished prints exposed from a digital file using a durst lambda laser enlarger) for $40 (8x10).

Oh, yes I see it now.

I think you're right about the other fees Jan but one can print and process fb there which the OP is interested in I believe.

I have no affiliation or connection to G44 as I don't need access to a rental darkroom since mine covers everything I could want, but the 24 hr access would be a hugely big carrot. If full members can indeed bring their own equipment in then that's another plus. Take a tour of the place if you can and go from there, couldn't hurt. Let us know what you think, would be useful info for others in the same sitch.

I had the tour in 2007 and took some classes there. I know the place and as I wrote, I like it. I just don't have the amount of work to justify the fees compared to just using equipment on an 'as and when' basis with people like TIW
