Darkroom: Something bad happened..but what?

was the fixer working properly. looks to me as if not fixed long enough.
this results in yellow marks on the negatives.

Hard to see on my small laptop but looks like uneven development perhaps?
I've been using HC-110 at 1:63 as a one shot for about 4 or 5 years now with no problems that I can detect. The syrup does get slightly brown with age but seems to work fine. How was your agitation? Did all procedures stay the same? Is the type of tank and reel the same? Once I find a film/exposure index/developer/time/temp/agitation cycle that works I try to duplicate it as close as I can for all subsequent rolls.

my first thought was fixer. If you have hypo check, use it to see if your fix is exhausted. If so, then just mix up a fresh batch, respool (if you haven't already cut the film), and re-fix.

Fixer times vary..get longer.
i use the cut-off's of leader, to check clearing time. It's twice that time.
It looks like fixer problem. Can be re-fixed.
