I was in an old second -hand store when I spotted two trays that looked interesting. Then I noticed a box next to them. The box w/all its innerds is made by WINDMAN BRO. , the trays by KODAK .The black box is marked YANKEE adjustable. Cut& pack film developing agitank. Is this tank also good to process 35mm as well as lg. format film? I'm hoping to push my drugstore processer out of the picture. I believe the chemcals can be had from a local vender. I'm new at all this so please excuse the dumb questions. Thanks for your time. RED R.

I don't think sheet film developing tanks work well for roll film. Those tanks are usually rectangular while the roll film tanks are cylindrical for more efficient use of chemicals as roll film is held in a spiral reel.

Thanks for the reply. Will the chemical's for sheet film be the same for 35mm? I don't have a round tank yet , but I DO have a Burke& James Watson 2-1/4x3-1/4. My hope is to process my own film and then scan it to my computer for storage & printing. I don't own an enlarger Will I need a lot more equipment? Thanks for your time. Red R.

The chemistry is the same, but the timings are often slightly different. Consult the Massive Dev Chart.

If you use one of those 'film developing apron' things, you can indeed use a Yankee tank for developing roll film. You will need to practice for a while to get the time and agitation correct.
