I've seen there's a few members on here from Brighton - is anyone a regular darkroom user?
The darkroom I use at Monolab in St James' St has excellent facilities, and the big attraction for me is they have a Ilfolab 2150 processor, which means I can fly through RC work prints - about 70 in a day. It's a must for me as I rarely get a chance to use a darkroom, so have a lot to get through without wasting time sloshing trays.
Bad news though - there's not enough demand these days to fill up the machine with chemicals and make it cost efficient for them. I spoke to the owner and he's willing to get some chemicals in IF there's enough bookings made around about the same time to enable them to make some kind of profit out of it.
So - is anyone interested in using this facility and get it back and running?
The cost of hire is £50 per day, or you can do half days at reduced cost, it has a De Vere 504 with an Ilford Multigrade head, plus top Rodenstock lenses, so can do 35mm up to 4x5. I've always been impressed by the prints I've come away with.
Even if you want to do FB or use trays, I'd recommend this darkoom.
Sorry if this sounds like a shameless plug, I have no relationship with this business, but I don't want to see it close down, which would mean I would have to shoot a lot less film in the future.

There is the Brighton Community Darkroom you can use http://brightondarkroom.org.uk/ if yours closes.
Not used it myself, never attempted to dev before.
Would like to learn but the convenience of paying someone to do it for me is too easy.
