Data Back GD-2/1

HI everyone.... been a proud owner of a G2 kit for about 6 months, just bought a 28mm Biogon today on the Bay to complete... so i have 21; 28; 35; 45 & 90. Anyhoo i was wondering what info the Data Back for the G1 gives you? is it the same as the G2.

The price of G2 Data Backs is way to sweet for me & they are soo rare!! i think it would be better to buy a G1 as an extra body and then a G1 Data Back... but does it give you all the same info as the GD-2??? Hope this makes sense.🙂

Interesting question, metering and motor wind/rewind are more or less the same so printing the info on two frames or inbetween the frames as the GD-2 does should be posssible with the GD-1, too.

I may want a Databack after I have the 35-70 and a 21 just to complete the kit 🙂

On a second thought, the G1 makes a nice second body, I bought mine for this porpose.
Although I prefer the G2s focus lock and the position of the shutter dial better. I use the G1 more like a P&S in autoeverything and the G2 for the trickier situations and/or more concious shooting.
