I am having an issue with the "New Posts" button on the navigation bar. When I click it I receive a "database error" page. No other links seem to take me to that, and navigating to threads and forums works fine by other means.

Database error

I am getting the "database error" note on RFF constantly of late, whether I choose User CP, or New Posts, or Forums, or many other website options. I've cleared the cookies in my browser, restarted the browser, etc ... all the standard options ... but it persists and only happens with RFF.

Any ideas? What's changed in the past week?

Just a guess, database stuff, maybe needs to be merged from old to new server. It doesn’t look like it’s done yet. Is this site using its own server or renting space?

Servers are pretty cheap now but then setting them up, maintenance, updates who does that?

When I had my business I used Yahoo to host. Did my own site, had a rudimentary, self-taught knowledge of html for my site.

At any rate, this site now loads really quick from my end.

Maybe the server upgrade has something to do with it.

Edit: Oops. Bill answered first.

That’s OK Rob.

Two of us thinking the same thing maybe we’re correct!

Have a great rest of the week.

I’m developing some rolls of b&w 120 I had laying around. Maybe I’m in for a few surprises!

I have not had this specific issue but I have been quite often getting long delays in posts being registered - perhaps a minute or more. I have also noticed that sometimes when this happens the post eventually does present itself on the main RFF page but the page with the "reply to thread" box is never the less still open and the little circular "thinking" gif is still rotating giving the impression it is not. Occasionally this has resulted in a duplicated thread if I have not realized that the post has already eventually got tow here it should be.
