David Lynch on William Eggleston

awesome. I'm a big lynch fan (though his fotos lack the sparkle of his movies), and Eggleston to boot. Eggleston is quite a character, theres an interesting documentary on him as an older, post-famous, Eggleston where he does a lot of drinking and just hanging out with friends, taking pics. Isnt that the life?
thx for posting this, the collusion of great artists always intrigues me.

theres gotta be more Lynch and Eggleston fans out there. In fact, I'm going to the Lynch wedding in Portland on Aug 5th ......... unfortunately (no offense Andrew) its not THE Lynch wedding ......

Lynch is one of if not my favorite filmmakers, as is Eggleston in photography. Their depiction of America is similar and many ways. The establishing shots in Twin Peaks always remind me of Eggleston. Both have influenced my own work immensely.

I have recently begun shooting color, due to some recent Eggleston references here. I want to see what the deal is. Couple with that, that last week I began re-watching Twin Peaks all the way through on netflix. There must be SOMETHING to the combination of the two.

(I have noticed, upon re-watching, the abundance of red used for effect in the TV show. This is the first I've watched it since it first ran.)

Thanks for posting this!
I am a big David Lynch fan myself.
Two of the greatest movies of all time for me are "Dune" and "Lost Highway" (probably one of my 5 most loved movies).

I can't wait for the Eggleston collection to open here in Memphis. His estate and the city of Memphis have laid out an area for a photo gallery. Unfortunately, with the city politics involved, who knows when it'll open.
