This is the good stuff.
I just picked this up today. It's another one of his amazing collections, this time of barns and related farm scenes from predominatly the upper-midwestern US. There is no real theme other than a sort of "zen of barns" but the shots are utterly glorious.
He shoots Hassy and uses the square format exceedinly well. I forget, using my Kievs, just how much I enjoy the way things get framed in a square. His main lens for the book was a Zeiss 50mm (!) though some were done with 100mm, 150mm and 250mm as well.
I also have his book "End of an Era" about the last few steamers working the great lakes.
He has a website at http://www.davidplowden.com and I recommend it as well.
