Bob's M5 and M8

Bob's M5 and M8

Before I forget I just wanted to mention how surprising it was to see Bob out shooting, among friends no less, with his treasured M8 and M5. I've known for some time that he looked on, with admiration, as others deployed these classic and modern tools of the future but I hadn't suspected that he owned mint copies of both.

Seeing that M5 cradlesd gracefully in his loving hands nearly brought tears to my eyes. The way he held it told all you need to know, protecting it and savoring it's manly feel.

As for the M8 Bob seemed transformed when it was around his neck, supported by a beautiful silver silk strap. Suddenly he was the people oriented street shooter we all knew he was, going up to strangers and snapping away on continuous mode like a seasoned Winogrand impersonator. I loved it when he leapt onto a fruit stand table so he could take a picture of the shocked vendor's face below him, incredible and ballsy at the same time.

Kudos to you Bob, may your M5 and M8 flags wave proudly my friend!

;)

I it is clear that I was unhappy at having to sit next to Donald, and I faked the cell phone conversation rather than engage him with talk of his favorite subject-
"Mike, Scotland is so great because....."
"Mike, have you ever been to XXXX in Scotland?"
"Mike did you know that in Scotland......"

Ahhh, so THAT'S What he was talking about!! I couldn't understand a word, though I heard something about "Dialithium Crystals being all but gone" or something.

Here are a few shots from one of the rolls I shot up in Davis (the other one is waiting on development). All were from the 21/2.8 G lens, a different type of shooting for this 50mm guy!

I forgot how grainy and contrasty APX400 was, a totally different feel from the 100 speed. Even though I was gentle on developing agitation the grain and contrast were very high. Rodinol 1+50.

More to come once I get the other roll cooked (trying HC110 this time), including some architectural shots I'm looking forward to and a few of Mike and Daisy in the Baggage Car.

waiting for the train
Now that I can upload again
you will get some more of my ugly pictures.
Unless your willing to bribe me from ruining your thread
