back to basics
I got a nice Agfa Optima-Parat recently. A full-automatic half frame camera, as long as the selenium cell still works. It doesn't in mine.
So I set out to extract the 30mm f2,8 lens and use it with a Fujifilm adapter. A 39mm Leica thread adapter is almost correct, so with a bit of shaving and some superglue I got the lens on the correct distance. Black kit seals all seams.
It's a nice, sharp and contrasty lens. Front focussing, 5-bladed aperture works nicely. The Fuji does the rest.
I transplanted a Olympus Pen-S 30mm f2,8 at the same time, giving me a nice opportunity to compare the two.
The Oly is superior in close focus. Minimum focus distance when mounted on the original camera was only 60cm, but since the phisical limiter is on the camera, it can focus as long as the lens block is in the focusing helical thread. Only 22cm!
The Solinar is the clear winner though. Great contrast provides an almost 3d effect, lacking on the Olympus.
