Dean Motel in Amarillo

The Dean Motel is located on I-40 on the east end of Amarillo, Texas. Only $26 a night! This is kind of a seedy industrial area with a lot of creepy looking motels and truck stops. We did not stay here!

In the closeup crop below, notice the calendar hanging in the lobby. Its a promotional calendar for a bail bondsman!

Thanks Dan. I didn't photograph the Cadillacs. I've driven past them a million times, but they never interested me much. I feel like they're someone else's art...a sculpture, I'd just be copying it.

You have a point, of course. But as an art piece, it's very democratic. Graffiti is encouraged, and by now there's about half an inch of paint on every exposed surface. The ground is littered with spray paint cans every direction for a few hundred feet.
