It's really difficult to buy things from you when your site keeps delivering server error messages instead of product listings.

This has been going on for weeks. What's going on? Surely someone in Atlanta can cope.

Please fix it.

Yours truly,
One Guy With A Credit Card

Boy, isn't that the truth! Have you tried emailing them? I was just trying to find something on their site and gave up. Again. Others have said this, but how can a company that gets the vast majority of it's sales online stay in business w/ such problems? Their old website was awful too and always going down, but the new one is utterly hopeless.

I was looking for a 100 mm lens a few days back. The site went to 55mm and stopped showing page five with the 55 mm was the last one.

Maybe they sold all the longer Nikkors.

Interesting, i just emailed them yesterday w. a note about how much worse the situation is than with their old site -- it seems very intermittent, sometimes paging through and sometimes just hanging up for minutes on end. I wasn't sure whether it was just me.

I was about to start a thread ranting about this exact problem. It is frustrating as h311. Upgrade the freaking server. Geez.

Dear xxxx,

As a follow-up to last month's email regarding the status of the new KEH.com website, please read the message below for a current update.

BIG IMPROVEMENTS AT www.KEH.com
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that has endured
our website challenges over the past 7 weeks. I'd also
like to thank those that gave input on the site, both
positive and negative, as this helped us rectify many
problems more efficiently.

I am pleased to say that, while not perfect, the majority of the usability issues that had been present at the initial rollout of the website have now been corrected. Major improvements have been made to the server timeouts, search functions and checkout pages among many others. I hope you will visit www.keh.com soon to see these improvements for yourself.
I am confident that you will see positive progress with regards to the performance of our new website. Moving forward, we are committed to continually enhancing the efficiency and usability of the website and, in turn, your online experience with KEH.com. Thank you once again for your input and patience and feel free to contact me directly with any future comments.

Sincerely,

Todd Murphy

I've been pricing a few items on their site recently, and I've had no problems. I wonder if this is browser related in some way?

(Which would still be a major screw up in any event. One would think by now any web site operator would know how to write code and ensure enough bandwidth on their server(s). )

what is it w/ places launching sites that are inferior to what they have already?! photo village's site is now AWFUL. i had to click probably 7-10 times just to view the list of leica M lenses. and the way it's set up you can't tell quickly what is used and what is not. the old site wasn't stellar, but at least it was easier to check their inventory.

I have tried every major browser for both PC and Mac and still have the same problem. I think it's a server and/or software issue on their end. Just my 2 cents.

They just did. In November.

That being said: I just had an improved (over my orders earlier this month and last month) experience with them. I suspect that this is still being worked on and it will improve.

I just call them; it's easier than dealing with their horrible website. I must say that KEH is a pleasure to do business with and I have had nothing but good dealings with them.

The BBC is good at this too. As soon as their site is glitch-free they 'upgrade' it. I assume they have full-time IT staff who think they have to show that they're working -- even if the site isn't.

Cheers,

R.

And I thought it was only because I was using a Mac.. For me it has been almost unusable on a Mac. When it doe work at all, it is incredibly slow. Certain things do not work for me at all including login, going to the next page or changing paging size. I have also complained to KEH directly. All they said they were aware of the problems.

I recently found out that my Linux laptop running the latest level of Ubunto had no trouble navigating their web site.. go figure.

I've had all the problems described here, but after reading digitalintrigue's post, I went there and it did seem much improved.

I still browse the KEH site, but I have not been able to complete payment online in the past three months. Three weeks ago, I tried to buy a 24mm viewfinder.

First, I tried using my PayPal funds. Paying by PayPal just returned an error. So I tried using a credit card. Also returned an error. I tried a couple times on different computers (Mac at work, PC at home) without any luck.

I gave up and bought the viewfinder elsewhere.

It's not much fun to browse their site if I can't buy anything from them. Pointless.
