ok, i've asked on the other RF area and i decided my problem has escalated to the "Repair" section

My hi-matic f didn't work, so looking around found the common prioblem was the negative wire corroding away, trying to resolder a 30yr old piece of wire didn't go so well. It broke :( now its too short to resolder and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Should i fully dismantle the camera and try to fix this black wire, or just call it dead? If anyone knows of a repair manual i would be ever so thankful!!!!
And i have tried kyphoto and there is nothing there to help me, usually my search efforts turn up the required information but i think i need specialist help here, or just experience haha

thanks for any help!

No luck so far?

If the wire broke go to Dick Smith and buy new ones and extend it. Replacing it completely is probably more correct (I am lazy, I would just extend).

Somewhere on RFF there was someone who was using electrically conductive glue for just this problem. Can't find the 'handle' on this, but just a suggestion. Not one I have tried though.
Best of luck.

Electrically conductive glue works a treat. I have used it for meter wire repairs on three K1000 cameras instead of soldering (wire glued to battery holder).
