Sharp enough to make your eyeballs bleed.
I've had great results from this lens and many other early Nikkors, too.
Amazingly, these pre-AI lenses can be bought really cheaply, which surely makes them one of photography's great bargains nowadays.

Thank you sir/ma'am! It is indeed a pretty sharp little lens, light weight too. I bought it for almost nothing several years ago. I have a newer/larger/faster Nikkor 35mm but this one is the one I usually grab for a long walk or hike.
