I've just home developed my first roll of Neopan 1600 (well first roll of anything really) in Xtol.
The negs look mostly fine (apart from me screwing up the water removal but thats another story), but I read that the negative edges should be totally clear... I would say mine are slightly purpley... is this indicitive of any problem like underdevelopment, or is it normal with neopan?
Cheers.

Just the edges or the whole roll?
The tint is from sensitizing dyes. First off, they don't cause any problems, don't worry. Not even with scanning or printing, as it's a uniform tint and won't affect density at all. It's more off-putting than anything else.
The dyes should wear away with exposure to light. Leave the negs out on a light box and it'll go away, though I'm not sure how long it'll take with neopan.
For me, I get just about everything out with a 2 bath fix, HCA and the Ilford wash method.

All the roll that's not the actual picture if you know what I mean. It makes sence what you're sayting since it's the same colour that the water turned when I was doing the final washes.
I still get good scans but was curious if I'd screwed something up in the developing process. Seems not
