Developing Old Exposed Film

Yes but this evening I developed another 4 rolls in the same Microphen stock I used yesterday. I figured I should add 40% to the development time, since 4 rolls were developed in the full litre previously.

14 minutes at 24C is too long, however. I think it should have been between 11 and 12 minutes.

These are going to be very grainy pics :)

And my water spots have appeared again, probably from having used another wetting agent. Might these spots dissolve if I load the films back onto the reels and rewash?

Water spots can be rewashed off, yes. Sometimes you need only dip into a photo-flo bath, rather than a full wash.

I usually put about 10 rolls of film through 1L of Microphen with no adjustment. Works pretty well for me. I then toss the whole liter at that point. If you want, throw about 10% on after te first 6 or so rolls.

There are a lot of dark areas on the 8 films developed so far. I have developed 4 rolls at 10 minutes and 4 rolls at 14 minutes. Perhaps I should develop the final 4 rolls at 12 minutes?

okay, an old thread i know, but anyway...

i'm thinking of developing some plus-x and tri-x from the 70s.

all i have is rodinal.

should i give it a shot, or try a different developer?
