Developing Rollei RPX 400

Randy,

RPX400 is rebranded Kentmere 400 which comes from Ilford. Try RPX400@250, D-76 stock for 7:30mins or HC-110H for 11mins. You will get results quite similar to Tri-X in Rodinal 1+50. Grainy and rough looking but not bad at all.

If RPX400 is rebranded Kenmere, then I would probably go with HC-110. I didn't care for Kentmere (shot at 400) in XTol 1+1. The grain was "ugly" to my eyes, even though XTol normally gives good grain.

Overall the images looked mushy without enough "snap". If the grain is going to be what it is, I would shoot @ 200 and go with either HC110 dilution B or maybe Rodinal 1:25.

The advantage of D76 would (I think) be that it would have more solvent action than the other developers, but that reduces acutance. HC110 and Rodinal give higher acutance.

Hi guys,
I need some advice on developing a roll of RPX 400 exposed at 250 as I couldn't find lot on the net.
I previously tried a couple of times exposing it at 400 and found the results a bit flat compared to HP5 and Trix.
I have avaiable Rodinal and Hc-110 as well.
I see someone above advising HC-110 in dil H for 11min, has anyone tried this combination?
