Tonight I have developed a slide e6 film Kodak E100vs. I used some outdated old chemicals. Quite happy with the result but.. want to make the next same film brighter. The developed one looks darker then it should to me.
Here is a couple of scans from it:
Now here is the question. What should I change in my next development to make the next slide brighter (the exposure was correct). That's what I did to it: I have a lot of different old chemicals from the 80s and I need to find the correct treating times for it. That was my developing list:
1. Black and white developing - 12 minutes (I think this very developer let me down by turning less strong then it was ment to be in 1980, guess I should give it 15 minutes instead of 12, or not?)
2. Stop
3. Exposed to white light from 2 lamps during 3 minutes and all other procedures were made in a lighted room (maybe I should give it more light?)
4. Colour developing 10 minutes - got a bright blue film from it, first thought my work was ruined..
5. Bleach - a little less blue in the film.
6. Fixer - still was a little blue after it, but got back to normal colours during drying - that was a mistery for me..
So now, as far as I understand, to make my next slide brighter with same chemistry I need to make the time of the first black and white developement LONGER. Or am I mistaking?
