developing to Digital

I am looking for a good place to take both color and B&W film to be developed then turned digital for me to edit. I live in Mid-Michigan in the US and would be willing to mail out film or drive a decent distance.

I have been told just take it to the local drugstore but they end up shipping the B&W out to some other place and they do not like to tell me where.

I do not want or need prints just want the negs back with a CD or DVD of high quality prefferably uncompressed images. Any ideas anyone, much thanks. I suppose I will also have to look at the cost benefit ratio of sending htem in or developing them myself and then scanning in. any ideas would be helpful

Not only will developing the film yourself be more economical, but it will open creative controls that are unavailable when developed by a third party.
