FYI...just received my copy of a wonderful "photography" book and included stereo viewer (all at a bargain price of about $45 US):
Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell
The London Stereoscopic Company, LTD.

by Brian May, Denis Pellerin, Paula Fleming
Brian May, the first listed author, is a renowned astrophysicist. He also plays guitar for some rock band or other... uh.... Queen something...i forget.
And here is a nice discussion about a book signing...

Review: Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures In Hell, with Brian May, Denis Pellerin And Paula Fleming, Victoria Hall, Settle
21st November 2013 in Arts & Entertainment News
"It’s not often a reviewer can truly say the event they’ve attended was an evening in Hell, but this was! It was also fascinating and made all the more so by the enthusiasm of the three presenters.
All three are experts in their field and this enthusiasm for their subject, interspersed with puns and Queen jokes in homage to Brian May’s “other life” as a rock guitarist, helped bring the topic to life.
It was also appropriate that a Victorian music hall should be the venue for an event about an unusual form of Victorian entertainment, for Diableries are stereo cards, which were made exclusively in France, from the 1860s until around 1900. They were a source of fascination to Victorians, with their images of a peculiar vision of hell in which devils, demons and skeletons took part in a wide range of activities – many of which seemed far from hellish!"

The best Stereos I've ever seen were done by Harold Lloyd. Look around online with your 3D glasses. He did his with transparencies.
