Dear all,

I have a pre-asph summilux with some small spots in the coating of
the front element. You can see them in the attached pictures.
For reference, the largest one is about 3/4 milimeter in diameter.

Depending on the direction of the light, they are vey difficult to see
and to my eyes they are kind of white.

I don't know if it is possible to clean them.
I have tried to wipe them out with a microfiber cloth and distilled
water without success. What do you think? Are they coating damaged?
Can they be cleaned?

Best,
Pau

The spots will not effect the photographs , I had a summilux 35 with the same problem . When I sent the lens to leica to repair the aperture they polished out the spots . Not recommended as it was prone to flare more after that .

That's good to know. In fact, since the spots are small and in the outer
part of the front element, I wasn't really worried about the effect on pictures.
But if they could be cleaned (not polished), my mind would be in peace ;)

Best,
Pau
