Did anyone receive the new KEH catalog? (I have a question)

Did anyone receice the "newest" (Vol. 01, 2007) KEH catalog? There is a camera at the top/right of the front cover. Looks like a Leica M (1,2,3?) but the rangefinder/viewfinder ports "protrude" as if added on. Anyone know what make/model camera? I mistakingly said the "same" camera was second down from the top of the "Photo Village" banner on the front page of this forum. Thanks!

It looks like an M3. The "protrusions" you see are the goggles that come attached to the 35mm f/2.8 Summaron lens that's mounted on that camera.

I always thought those were called 'eyes'.

Thanks. What is the function of the "goggle"? Are they removable? Are they necessary for the lens to function? Actually.......I like their look.

"eyes"/"goggles", I don't know what the "official" name is either.

But on some Summarons they are removable, but they are necessary for correct focusing with the rangefinder. These were produced for use with the M3, which don't have a 35mm frameline. They are use to adjust the rangefinder 50mm fov so you can frame as they were 35mm framelines.

There's a little bit of distortion (in the viewfinder), which is one reason why I don't like them, but many people don't care or mind.
